Staff brought a draft covenant to the committee that would require, as part of a recorded deed restriction, an approved management plan for each newly acquired property within one year of purchase. The plan would be approved by the committee and recorded so future owners/officials would have a clear management framework.
"1st step is it requires that we, within 1 year of purchasing a property, create a management plan for the property," the Staff member said. Committee members said the recorded plan would give clearer authority for selective trimming, trail decisions, and water-management uses, but they also requested legal review to ensure the recorded language remains consistent with the original bond referendum’s conservation intent and any voter commitments.
