Council members question road connections for Wildwood development

Councilman Marshall told the committee he remembered prior proposals that considered access via Pleasant Valley or Lone Cabin Drive and asked why the petitioner had not pursued that option. “Several of those other proposals had contemplated having that access in,” Marshall said, noting the road historically provided a way into the back 40 acres adjacent to the site.
Developer Doug Nance and planning staff reviewed the aerial and said it was unclear from the current materials who owns the adjacent parcel or whether topography would allow a new vehicular connection. Nance offered to reach out to the neighboring owner to evaluate whether an alternative vehicular access is viable. Staff also discussed that whether streets are public or private will affect net acreage and potential lot counts.
