Board approves change order to expand wage-comparison study contractor's scope and pay

Staff presented a change order for contractor Will Folger to expand a wage-comparison study assessing transfer-station compensation. The change order increases Folger's contract from $7,500 to $15,000 (an added $7,500) and raises his hourly rate to $300. "It increases his hourly rate to $300 an hour," Tim said while describing the change-order terms.
Commissioner Short moved to approve the change order and asked that the board be engaged in selecting the jurisdictions used for comparison; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Board members asked staff to consult with union representatives and to bring the proposed list of comparable jurisdictions back to the board for review before the contractor proceeds.
