At a July 2 special meeting, the Perry Park Metropolitan District Board of Directors voted unanimously to accept a proposal from Bluestem for the district's entryway improvement project in an amount not to exceed $190,000, subject to execution of a final signed contract. Director Keith A. Worley moved the measure and President Darren Hill seconded; directors present approved the motion without objection.
Board members said five bids were received and staff, with input from Norris Design, evaluated proposals based on monument signage, stonework, contractor experience and potential change-order risk. Directors Carsten Baumann and Bonnie Schwam expressed opposition to accepting Bluestem during discussion, but the motion to award Bluestem passed. The board authorized staff to proceed with JS Enterprises if a contract with Bluestem cannot be executed. The district indicated Norris Design will assist with construction administration and payment approvals as the project moves to contract and construction phases.
The action concludes the competitive-bid phase and permits staff to finalize contract terms; the Board noted standard permitting, schedule and payment procedures remain to be completed before on-site work begins.
