Superintendent: 159 students graduated; alternate-pathway graduates drop from prior year

Superintendent Diane DiGiosepi told the Verona Board of Education that 159 students met the district's graduation requirements for the 2025–26 school year, with 154 graduating from Verona High School and five from out‑of‑district placements. "The number of students that graduated were a 159," DiGiosepi said.

DiGiosepi described changes in alternate pathways: 18 students graduated under the substitute competency test (down from about 18% last year) and 12 students graduated through the portfolio appeals process (down from 28 last year). She also reported six students received state‑endorsed diplomas by meeting alternate IEP requirements and that a single student was denied graduation for attendance issues but may complete requirements in August. The superintendent said she will post detailed cut scores and portfolio guidance on the district website for public review.
