Alder Madden, speaking for the License & Ordinance Committee and Public Works where appropriate, moved the stop-sign ordinance and the no-parking amendments. On Dewey Court, Madden explained the committee-approved change differs from the packet and proposed adding Dewey Court to section 15.045(c)(2) to exempt the street from seasonal alternate-side parking. Alder Myers confirmed the public-works engineering staff had verified the street can be plowed and noted the 130-foot no-parking distance from the centerline was due to a utility access manhole that must remain accessible.
Remote Alder Baines asked for confirmation that the amendment eliminated alternate-side parking; the mayor and other members confirmed that was the intent. The council approved the motions and amendments by voice vote. The approved actions include a first reading to amend section 15.031 (stop-sign locations), a first reading to amend section 15.042 (no-parking locations at Middleton Beach Road and Mendota Avenue), and an amended first-reading addition to section 15.045(c)(2) that adds Dewey Court and exempts it from seasonal alternate-side parking.
