Council approves seven Renaissance grant awards totaling $23,600 to fight blight

Borough Manager Cindy Wells reported that seven Renaissance grant applications were received requesting $23,600 in combined grant funds for projects totaling $60,606. She said that $90,547.35 is currently available in the Renaissance Grant fund and recommended approval of all seven applications as improvements to properties that will help combat blight.
"It is recommended that the seven be approved, based on the fact that these improvements to the properties will help in the fight against blight," the borough record states. Councilor Steadman moved to approve the recommended applications; Councilor Osborn seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The grants will be administered through the borough's Renaissance Grant program for the 2024/2025 period.
