Council pauses T-Hangar bidding; finance officer flags $300,000 AWOS upgrade at Flynn Field

The City of Gregory placed the T-Hangar project opening for bids on hold while engineers review implications of a governmental funding freeze and a restraining order, Finance Officer Trudy Waterman told the council. Waterman said the issue is awaiting further direction from engineers before bids proceed.
Waterman also reported that the airport’s Automatic Weather Observing System (AWOS) is uncertified and out of date. She said Helm’s listed Gregory on a schedule to upgrade the AWOS in 2027 but that the city could pursue the project now and seek reimbursement later; she estimated the cost at about $300,000 for an updated, certified AWOS at Flynn Field.
