Police Chief Ryan Cook told the council on Jan. 6 that the Gregory Police Department received a $5,000 donation.
Chief Cook said the department will use the funds to upgrade its computer system, add a laptop to department resources, and purchase two Simunition training guns and associated personal protective equipment for future training. Chief Cook also briefed the council on radar sign cloud renewal levels; the council later tabled a separate agenda item on cloud access renewal pending further discussion with the chief.
Chief Cook’s report was given as part of department head reports presented early in the meeting; the minutes do not list the donor name or additional conditions on the gift.
