Village Hall restoration update; fireworks show rescheduled for Aug. 29

Administration reported on ongoing restoration and mitigation work at Village Hall and said portions of the building (lobby, upstairs and some restrooms) remain usable while restoration proceeds. Staff said they are working with the insurance company and mitigation vendor and that some staff continue to operate from the Public Works building until contractors are lined up; the mayor and staff cautioned it could be several weeks before full restoration work begins.
Regarding the canceled Independence Day fireworks, staff said the vendor must reapply for permits and that, based on vendor and vendor-related availability (band, food vendors, audio), the rescheduled mutual date under the contract is Saturday, August 29 with a 5 p.m. park opening, a band from about 6 to 9 p.m. and fireworks at about 9:30 p.m.
