Board approves bills, FY27 tentative budget, leases and contracts in roll-call votes

Item 5.3, a treasurer’s office lease through 2031, and item 5.4, a student bus contract through fiscal year 2031, were both presented and approved following brief discussion and clarification requests about a township label on the lease cover versus the signature page. Item 5.5, a revised welding MOU between District 228 and South Suburban College, was presented by Doctor Williams and approved along with personnel actions that included retirements, resignations, leaves and a slate of recommended hires (including an add-on hire, Ernesto Santa Cruz, proposed start date 07/27). All motions recorded roll-call "aye" votes from the trustees present.
Votes at a glance (as recorded in the meeting): items 2.1 and 2.2 (minutes approvals) and 5.1–5.5 were moved, seconded and carried by roll-call with ayes recorded. Personnel slate and the welding MOU were also approved. Several trustees asked clarifying questions before voting; no items were tabled.
