County holds two executive sessions; board authorizes County Attorney to seek special counsel for Board of Adjustment

County Attorney Joe McNally requested an executive session to discuss potential litigation; the board entered executive session at 10:21 a.m. with McNally, the County Board and Andrew Willis of Cline Williams present. The board returned to open session at 11:13 a.m. with no action taken.
A second executive session on contract negotiations ran from 11:14 a.m. to 11:41 a.m., with the board, the County Attorney and Sheriff Deaver present; no action was taken. After the sessions McNally recommended appointing special counsel for the Board of Adjustment. On a motion by Commissioner Dennis Wadsworth the board authorized the County Attorney to contact and engage qualified legal counsel to represent the Board of Adjustment and to make a preliminary retention as necessary, subject to subsequent ratification and approval by the board.
