Neighbor warns council a nightclub at the former Moose Lodge could bring noise and policing issues

During public comment Jan Molinaro warned that a proposed conversion of the former Moose Lodge into either a nightclub or event center could create disturbances in nearby residential neighborhoods. Molinaro recounted prior experience with a VFW venue that drew noise and police complaints as the neighborhood built out, and said the city should expect similar issues if the Moose Lodge rents to event operators that serve alcohol.
He recommended that council review the municipal code's noise‑control provisions (he cited "chapter 8") and take neighborhood impacts into account as permitting and licensing proceed. Molinaro said he would return to the council if complaints continue.
