Council approves $15,000 allocation for Fourth of July parade security

Parks Director Lina Hicks (speaker 3) presented the staff report, explaining that $15,000 had already been authorized by council at a prior meeting and that Resolution 1881 would allocate that amount: $8,500 for parade barriers lining the route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff, and $4,000 to the Chamber for hiring security and event staff. Hicks recommended approval and answered council questions. The council moved to approve the resolution, the motion was seconded and the resolution passed by voice vote.
The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute the amendment that formalizes the allocation and allows staff and the Chamber to proceed with parade security preparations.
