Council approves surplusing 2003 wood chipper after engine failure

"The engine has lost compression... so that's the only reason we're getting rid of it," a staff member said during the meeting.
A motion to surplus the chipper was moved and seconded, and the council approved the surplus in a roll-call vote. Staff said taxpayers will avoid recurring repair costs and will arrange rental equipment for occasional tree-trimming jobs.
