Mayor Kidman announced that City Clerk Cindy Scott received the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) designation of Certified Municipal Clerk and the Arizona Municipal Clerks Association 2026 President’s Award of Distinction, both dated July 14, and presented a plaque recognizing the accomplishment.
"You have been awarded the International Institute of Municipal Clerks designation of certified municipal clerk," Mayor Kidman read from the IIMC letter, praising Scott’s completion of demanding educational requirements and contributions to local government. He said the city arranged a surprise presentation and planned to feature a photo of Scott with the plaque.
The mayor described the awards as recognition of "lifelong learning" and encouraged the council and public to note the clerk’s professional achievement. No council action was required; the announcement was made during the mayor’s report.
