The Anne Arundel County Board of Education acted on a slate of consent and action items, approving contract awards, personnel actions and several policy and facilities items during the meeting.
Consent items 5.01 through 5.05 were bundled and approved on a voice/roll-call vote with all recorded members voting "Aye" (motion passed 8-0). Administrative appointments and personnel actions listed in the packet were approved 8-0. The board approved Policy JP (student harassment and misconduct) on third reader unanimously (8-0) to reflect the 2020 Title IX final rule. The Shipley Avenue transportation facility schematic, Broadneck High safety netting project and the Chesapeake High stormwater management agreement were each approved unanimously (8-0).
Policy JCO (student personal electronic devices) was the only contested item recorded: after discussion and a withdrawn tabling motion, the board approved JCO on third reader by a roll call of 7-1 (one member, Miss Schallheim, recorded a nay). The meeting closed after a routine motion to adjourn.
