Superintendent highlights record scholarship offers and AP gains for Class of 2026

He said the Class of 2026 earned about $286,700,000 in scholarship offers, roughly $52 million more than the Class of 2025, and that a five-year total of scholarship offers exceeds $1.12 billion. Dr. Bedell also reported 10,757 AP exams scored 3 or higher this past year, and large percentage increases in AP participation and 3+ scores for historically underrepresented groups (he cited a 121.7% increase for African American students in AP participation and a 250.3% increase in threes for African American students in recent years).
Bedell highlighted Wall Chapel Elementary School's Best Buddies chapter being named the top elementary chapter nationally and framed the metrics as evidence of district investments in rigorous curriculum and early access to advanced courses.
