Facilities staff updated the buildings & grounds committee on several capital and maintenance matters, saying the JVAC bubble installation is largely complete and the district is on schedule for a December 1 opening of the season.
“The inside is almost complete, and we are on target for our December 1 starting of the season,” a facilities representative said, describing anticipated rentals and community use. Staff reported they have encumbered capital dollars for an intermediate north boiler replacement and have placed the project out to bid with a summer award expected.
The facilities team also described a water-meter relocation negotiation with the company Viola after a meter was found in the wrong place; staff said they are working to minimize expense. A facilities manager gave monthly metrics: roughly 785 incoming work orders in the reporting period and about 986 work orders completed (carryover included), averaging about 42 completions per day; staff offered to provide a monthly breakdown by trade.
Board members thanked staff for rapid responses to site-specific issues and staff noted coordination with Assemblyman McGuckin and JCP&L when grid work needed escalation.
