Toms River board approves 02/2027 pupil calendar and personnel items; longtime HR staffer to retire

The Board approved the district's pupil calendar listed as 02/2027 after discussion about how the calendar should address snow days and the board's authority to adjust days to protect graduation timelines.
"It's a good idea. And the final version I'll put when we post our website, just to let everybody know when there are excessive inclement weather days that go beyond the calendar, the board has the right to adjust the calendar past those days to meet our goals of graduation," said Mr. Seda when clarifying the plan to add a disclaimer. One board member also raised the possibility of remote instruction during election day as a contingency.
Separately, the board approved personnel agenda items 1–18 and addendum 19–27 by roll call. During the personnel discussion the superintendent thanked multiple retirees and specifically acknowledged Dawn Radich, a longtime district human-resources employee who is expected to retire at the end of the summer after roughly 38–39 years of service.
