Toms River students recognized for orchestra placements and athletic milestones

Student representatives from High School East, North and South reported school news, and several awards and recognitions were presented during the meeting.
High School Easts representative Mikaela Melanak detailed upcoming events, attendance competitions and fundraisers. Abri Bates of Intermediate North announced that Devanj Gupta and Sanvi Gupta earned placements in the 2026 All Shore Orchestra and will perform at the concert on Feb. 27. Joanne Link from Intermediate South introduced Vicky Pekarchuk for All Shore Orchestra selection, and supervisor Jen Vazini announced Elizabeth Richardson and Isabella Cotillo were selected for the South Jersey Orchestra.
At Toms River High School South, Catherine Roselli noted that students participated in the New York City Chamber Orchestra competition and had an open dress rehearsal with the New York Philharmonic. Athletics highlights included Shane Gambaroni reaching 1,000 career points in boys basketball and Owen Benichuks 100th wrestling win; Coach Vincent Arminio congratulated Shane on the milestone. "Tonight's about Shane," Arminio said, praising the students contributions to the team.
The board praised student achievements and encouraged public attendance at productions and sporting events.
