The Toms River Education Foundation provided a $7,500 donation to the Toms River Unified Sports program, district speakers said after a short video celebrating the program.
"Thank you to the Toms River Educational Foundation in downtown Toms River for their recent fundraiser giving us $7,500 for unified sports, allowing us to continue on with flag football and unified kickball," said a presenter representing the Unified Sports team. Program leaders thanked downtown businesses and Channel 21 for help producing the video and supporting a downtown fundraising night.
Board members and program staff noted that the grant supports Special Olympics–linked programming and helps cover equipment and activity costs for unified teams at the district's high schools. The board recognized coaches, paraprofessionals and administrators who support the inclusive teams on and off the field.
