Toms River board recognizes School Board Appreciation Month, approves routine business

"We would just like to thank our Board of Education," said Mr. Seda, who opened the meeting and thanked members for their volunteer service. The resolution was moved and seconded and passed on a roll call that registered 'Yes' from members present.
The board also approved a slate of routine business including second readings of policies (with policy p2422 noted as tabled) and consent-agenda items 14 through 19. Clerk-led roll calls confirmed each motion carried. Members discussed adding clarifying language to future calendar materials about adjustments for excessive inclement weather and the board's authority to ensure graduation dates are met.
The meeting concluded after additional approvals of the board secretary's report and personnel and program agenda items; the board adjourned and said it will reconvene next month.
