The presenter said the Joint Rail Authority drafted the MOU, the city’s legal staff reviewed it and the authority’s board has already approved the agreement.
The presiding officer thanked Stephen Beatty, executive director of the Joint Rail Authority, for his cooperation on the project and said the connection should provide safer, more accessible access to the Riverwalk. Council voted 5–0 to approve the MOU.
