Facilities staff reported that three rooftop heaters at High School North Auditorium have reached the end of their useful life and at least two units will need full replacement. "I think it was about what about $60,000?" a staff member said while estimating roughly $30,000 per unit for replacements.
Staff said one unit remains operational but makes excessive noise and that ordered units have a lead time (reported as roughly 12–14 weeks). The district said it will consider temporary heating sources or relocating events if replacements are delayed to avoid disrupting plays and extracurriculars.
Board members asked how long temporary measures would take to deploy and staff said they could also shift events to other district facilities if necessary. Facilities emphasized the district can improvise because of its size but that some larger capital projects (like full gym floor replacements) require planning and reserve funding.
