Courtney Nagel, representing the sheriff's department, described National Night Out as an annual community-policing event scheduled for Aug. 4 from 5–8 p.m. at Community Park, and invited commissioners to host or share a booth. "It's a huge community policing event," Nagel said, noting the event typically features mounted units, search-and-rescue, probation and a variety of community booths.
Nagel said the event has grown in recent years and offered staff support to help commissioners reserve space or share a booth with community services. The commission expressed interest in participating and in sharing a booth with staff to engage residents and promote programs.
