Library reports strong book‑sale turnout; council told three director candidates have been interviewed

Linda Meyer (S2) reported to council that the annual library book sale drew more than 140 adults, produced $732.75 in sales and $700.50 in donations, and resulted in roughly 200 children's books being donated to Morrisville School District classrooms. The library will also offer a new pass for the Please Touch Museum following the county program change.
Meyer described upcoming programs — a Purple Martin bird presentation by avian ecologist Will Kron on Aug. 8 at 11 a.m., STEM programs for children, and monthly constituent hours from Representative Jim Prokopiak. She said the Scholastic Book Fair is ongoing and that the summer-reading program continues.
On staffing, the borough manager (S3) said the library director position has attracted three interviewees to date and that the borough hopes to make an appointment within the next ~45 days. The council discussed where the position has been advertised and confirmed that the listing no longer requires a master's degree, consistent with state requirements for libraries of this size.
Council asked staff to post program and event details to the borough website and channel and to confirm the library director posting locations for public transparency.
