Treasurer outlines modernization steps, delinquent-tax work and investment status

Ashna, the county treasurer, told supervisors she is working to modernize payment and records workflows and to standardize processes across departments.
"My name is Ashna. I'm the county treasurer of the county," she said, then described duties from handling receipts and delinquencies to administering lottery credit recertifications and unclaimed funds. She outlined a new online portal for historical records, a cashiering module roll-out, positive-pay bank arrangements, new check-reissue procedures, and updated training and documentation for staff.
Ashna gave a status update on the tax roll and delinquent accounts. She said the 2025 tax roll settlement was progressing and that final settlements were expected around August 20. She reported 488 delinquent parcels as of July 7, totaling about $1,000,397.92 (as read aloud in the meeting). She said the office plans to send courtesy letters to parcels that will become eligible for tax-deed process in September and that staff are preparing sealed-bid materials tied to tax-deed procedures.
She also reported investment account balances and near-term maturities, described work with financial advisors and PMA, and said the county is monitoring radio-tower project wrap-up and Tyler software cashiering implementation across departments.
