SLVD asks town trustees to deposit $30,000 capital contribution after delay

Sawyer Lake Village District officials told the board they had hand‑delivered a $30,000 check in mid‑April as the district's 2026 contribution to its Capital Reserve Fund, but the amount did not appear on the April investment report from the trustees.
In a July 6, 2026 letter to the Gilmanton Board of Selectmen, Commissioner David Ferber recounted email exchanges with Trustee Neil Roberts and the Town Administrator indicating Fidelity Investments returned the physical check because the trustee accounts require electronic deposits and trustees were awaiting restored account access. The letter says the trustees told SLVD they had "things in motion" to restore access and would deposit the funds once access was restored.
The letter asks the trustees to expedite the deposit and requests compensation for any lost earnings on the account for the period the funds were not invested. SLVD noted DRA and the DOJ Charitable Trust unit previously requested verification of contributions after trustees' MS‑9/MS‑10 filings omitted prior year deposits.
The district said it expects the trustees to complete the deposit within days of account access and will follow up with the Town Administrator and Trustees if the funds are not posted.
