The Humboldt Town Board approved several parks and ballfield expenditures on July 13. The board accepted an $8,877.57 quote from Alpha Asphalt to create four handicap parking spaces at Diamond A (the concrete option was quoted at $16,000); the motion to approve the asphalt quote passed by roll call.
The Western Cornbelt Baseball Association (WCBA) requested the town pay half the cost of a 20x40 tent so both the WCBA and the town could use it; the board approved the purchase and recorded the town’s share as between $1,500 and $3,000. Board staff also located identical fencing panels and two gates from Extraordinaire Fence Company for $1,450, substantially less than a prior $5,000 quote for only two gates, and the board accepted the lower-cost option.
