Two volunteer fire companies report active training and fundraisers; board approves fire police assistance on Aug. 1

Lehigh County volunteer companies updated the board on operations and fundraising at the June 11 meeting. LPFC Fire Chief Phil Hobel reported 34 calls year‑to‑date and 11 calls in May, one new firefighter, and multiple joint trainings in May; he said the truck committee is considering listing a 1983 engine for sale and that a pending St. Luke's Outreach request and other fundraising efforts are in review, including a pending $7,740 request for EMS equipment.
NTFC Fire Chief Nick Gruber reported 79 emergency calls year‑to‑date and outlined upcoming events: a drill at the Madison Park townhouses on June 22, a Father's Day chicken BBQ on June 21, a yard sale July 18, and food stands at the Kempton and Schnecksville fairs. The board moved (Ronald Jerdon) and seconded (Frederick Najarian) to approve Lynn Township fire police to assist Weisenberg Fire Company with parking and traffic on Aug. 1; the motion carried unanimously.
