Consultants said community engagement sessions (two events totaling roughly 42 attendees with 31 written responses) showed a clear preference for the monoslope design, but councilors and members of the public raised concerns about aesthetics, event layout and accessibility. Staff said many community suggestions (e.g., moving support legs closer to Gilboa Avenue, expanding sidewalk, guttering to stormwater) can be incorporated into detailed design. The committee voted to place the item on more time (4–1) so staff can further refine engineering details and expand outreach before a final concept selection.
