Humboldt Planning and Zoning board recommends excavation permit, schedules Hanisch replat hearing and accepts member resignation

At its June 26 meeting the Humboldt Planning and Zoning Board recommended the City Board establish an excavation permit, scheduled a public hearing on the Tract 2 Hanisch Addition replat for July 24, 2023, and accepted the resignation of board member Bob Zirpel effective Aug. 1, 2023.
The Humboldt Planning and Zoning Board met June 26, 2023, at the Humboldt Community Center. Chairman Dave Froke called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.; members present were Kristi Gambs, Mike Noonan and Bob Zirpel (Brady Gaddis was absent).
During new business the board scheduled a public hearing for the replat of Tract 2 of the Hanisch Addition for the next regular meeting on July 24, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The minutes record that “a motion was made by Zirpel and seconded by Noonan to recommend to the City Board to establish an excavation permit.” The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting aye.
Nolan Whiting addressed the board about remodeling the exterior of his property to its original state, and John Janish, Brian Janish and Randy Porter appeared to discuss pursuing purchase of City property (they were told they must begin that process with the City Board). The board also recorded that member Bob Zirpel submitted his resignation effective Aug. 1, 2023; the board, by motion from Chairman Dave Froke seconded by Kristi Gambs, voted to accept the resignation.
The board heard continuing updates on the Comprehensive Plan from Sean Hegyi of SECOG but took no formal action on the plan at this meeting. The next regular meeting was set for July 24, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Humboldt Community Center; the minutes were attested by Finance Officer Kristie Ellis. The meeting adjourned at 6:53 p.m.
