Councilor Denny Nielsen reported that bidding is underway for the planned redevelopment of Detroit Avenue and that the city continues to pursue timing and funding for redevelopment projects, including a previously announced $600,000 Pier grant (no new updates reported). He said an ODOT paving project secured by Councilor Greg Sheppard has been approved, with weather to dictate implementation dates and affected streets including 2nd, 3rd, 4th and Lake Crest.
Nielsen said he asked Mr. Epply about activity at Kane's Marina and was told a master plan would be completed in the next few weeks. Councilors discussed follow-up on overhead wiring issues on Santiam Street and asked staff to coordinate with utility owners for resolution.
What happens next: bidding results for Detroit Avenue are expected by the end of the month and staff will follow up on wiring, paving schedules, and updates on the Pier grant timeline.
