Council approves RFP and budget cap for paving of 2nd, 3rd and Lakecrest Loop

Councilor Denny Nielsen presented a motion to issue a request for proposals (RFP) to pave 2nd, 3rd and the Lakecrest Loop, funded by the ODOT SCA paving program. He said HBH Engineering will review the RFP and that the city would solicit bids from a minimum of four qualified contractors in the region.
"The project will be funded by ODO with a budget not to exceed $250,000," Nielsen said during the motion (as recorded). Councilor Todd Smith seconded the motion; the council voted unanimously to approve issuance of the RFP.
The motion set a budget cap of $250,000 and directed staff and HBH Engineering to proceed with the RFP process and competitive bidding. The council did not award a contract at the meeting; bids will be evaluated after the RFP distribution.
