Planning staff report: council adopts recent planning amendments; clerk departs
Summary
Staff reported that the city council adopted planning-related amendments (middle housing, ADU, parking, conversion and daycare changes). Planners also noted that Erin Skelly has left city employment and Catherine will serve as interim clerk for the planning commission.
City planning staff told the commission the City Council adopted several planning-related ordinances the night before that reflect work the commission helped develop, including amendments on middle housing, accessory dwelling units, parking, conversion of existing buildings and daycare rules. A staff member thanked planning commissioners and staff who helped move the items forward.
Staff also announced an administrative change: Erin Skelly, who previously supported the planning commission, is no longer with the city and Catherine will act as the planning commission clerk for the near term. Staff asked commissioners to confirm Catherine's contact information so communications and packet delivery function smoothly.
