Commission asks city manager to explain why moratorium matter went to council first

Chairperson Condon said the commission was "disheartened" that the moratorium issue reached the City Council before the commission completed an agendized vote and requested that the city manager attend the commission's next meeting to explain the procedural steps that led to that outcome.
"I am requesting the city manager be at our next meeting to explain why this process was done backwards and why the item was taken to the city council," Condon said. City attorney Tom and staff explained that the city manager and council may request staff time or bring items to council, and that staff had prepared a draft report prior to the council discussion. The commission recorded the request and asked staff to seek an explanation from the city manager at the next meeting.
