The Ceres Planning Commission voted to approve a second 10‑year extension of Conditional Use Permit 0635, allowing the existing wireless communications facility at 1331 Angie Avenue to remain in service through Sept. 19, 2036.
Planning staff presented the request as a routine renewal that does not propose any changes to the tower, equipment, site layout or operations. "If approved, the permit would remain effective through 09/19/2036," staff said. Staff told the commission the site has operated for nearly 20 years, is in compliance with its approval, and that environmental review found the request categorically exempt under CEQA guidelines for existing facilities.
Jacob Hamilton, representing the applicant SBA, told the commission he had no additional comments and would be available for questions. "I don't have anything to add," Hamilton said, "that sounds exactly like what the project is, and I'll be here for questions if you need it." The commission took no public testimony on the item and approved the recommendation by roll call.
The approval carries the condition that the permit will return to the commission for further consideration if it is re‑extended again at the end of this term. The public hearing was opened and closed the same evening with no public speakers or emails for this item.
