Council selects Orbis for historic-preservation study as water grants proceed

Mike Mumper updated the Council that Merritt Engineering continues to move forward on the first water grant and that the project plan must include a National Historic Preservation study required by the EPA. The Council reviewed two consultant quotes for that study — Merjent at $7,450 and Orbis Environmental Consulting at $2,105 — and approved Orbis for $2,105.
Mumper reported that a new 750mp pump has been installed as part of the first grant work and said he hopes a water contract with Grand Beach will be ready by the April meeting. The second water grant had to be resubmitted because Congress placed a pause on grant awards; the National Historic Preservation study will cover both the first and second grant applications as described in the project plan.
