Board reviews grounds work, pond encroachment and irrigation repairs at Heritage Pines

Supervisors and staff reviewed recent operations activity, including park upkeep, a planned bench installation, and concerns about construction encroaching on a retention/EDRA area near Pond 16.
Assistant Secretary Carol Vaughan said the front property and Paleo Park are in good condition and requested another bench; Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz will meet with her to determine placement. Supervisor Michael Walsh reported that a homeowner-installed pool and cage near Pond 16 appear to be encroaching on the EDRA and that the bank sustained damage; staff will monitor and address the matter with the homeowner after work is complete.
Mr. Adams and Mr. Hurley also discussed algae observed in Ponds 7, 5 and 11; Adams will request a proposal from a contractor with local experience treating irrigation holding ponds. Separately, Ms. Lonergan noted a temporary dam was built on Hole 11 to address an irrigation break.
The board recorded a to-do list: sign repair (painting remaining), twice-annual mulching of the park starting October 2024, contractor follow-up to remove trees small enough to present hazards, and staff outreach to a resident planting trees in a retention area.
