Board approves additional cleanup, tree removal and mulching at parcel 33

The Heritage Pines CDD approved a contractor proposal to perform additional cleanup at parcel 33, including perimeter cleanup, removal of dead trees, mulching and an optional scope involving weed-whacker work on a dry retention slope.
District Manager Chuck Adams presented the proposal requested by Supervisor Carol Vaughan and the board discussed the scope after a site visit. District Engineer Kurt Heath stated there is a natural wetland in the center of the area and described a separate excavated retention area on the western side; he recommended the optional weed-whacker work in the dry retention slope, noting it does not impede drainage. Supervisor Lonergan asked for maps to be provided to Supervisor Putman to clarify boundaries.
The motion to approve the proposal, including the optional scope of work, was made by Michael Walsh, seconded by Stephen Putman, and passed unanimously. Adams said the invoice will be paid upon completion. The board also noted native grasses at Hole 2 are dwindling and asked Mr. Gatz to inspect and advise about replacement.
The approval covers only the specific cleanup scope presented; no additional landscape contracts or long-term maintenance plans were adopted at the meeting.
