District Manager Chuck Adams told supervisors the proposed FY2026 budget is similar to the FY2025 budget. He said the net effect is a reduction of approximately $4,000 in appropriations year-over-year and that the O&M assessment is projected to decrease by $2.88 per unit. The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Arthur Rhodes and seconded by Carol Vaughan; the board voted with all in favor.
Why it matters: the O&M assessment change will affect annual charges to the district’s 1,406 homes once rates are finalized after the public hearing. The board will consider any public comment at the July 15 hearing before formally adopting the budget.
The board’s adoption follows routine budget review steps; Adams reviewed increases, decreases and adjustments compared with FY2025 but did not introduce new programs or major capital items during the April 15 discussion. The public hearing for final budget adoption remains the next procedural step.
