North Street leak traced to customer side; Bristol West waterline financing, Munson mobilization underway

Town Administrator Gregory Faust reported that excavation at the North Street dig near Walgreens identified leakage on the customer side serving that address, and that Pomerleau is handling the customer-side repairs. Faust said the contractor excavated and re-ran the line and that work is expected to resume Wednesday morning; coordination included the Bristol Police Department, Public Works, and Vermont Utility Management Services (VTUMS).
Faust also updated the board on the Bristol West waterline replacement: additional documents will be sent to the Vermont Bond Bank and Bristol is on the Bond Bank’s agenda for May 28 to finalize bond financing. Munson Earth-Moving has begun mobilization with early-site tree work and some materials on backorder. Faust described a weekly communications plan tied to Thursday construction meetings, with notices distributed via Front Porch Forum, the town website, and targeted outreach to residents on affected streets; Elm Street is planned as the starting point.
