Selectboard selects DuBois & King to lead town-plan update under Municipal Planning Grant

Planning & Zoning Administrator AZ Larsen presented the consultant-selection results for Bristol’s Town Plan update funded by Municipal Planning Grant #07110-MP-2026-Bristol-62, reporting that DuBois & King scored 90 out of 100 against the Addison County Regional Planning Commission’s 81.
Larsen said a selection committee that included staff and board members reviewed both proposals and used a scoring matrix consistent with prior bid evaluations. Peeker Heffernan said one of the goals of using an MPG consultant was to "get away from regional planning and get some outside ideas anyway," and Chair Ian Albinson highlighted DuBois & King project manager Dan Mallach’s prior work in Bristol on sidewalk scoping and an accessibility study.
Town Administrator Gregory Faust said DuBois & King’s proposal was written specifically to Bristol’s needs and noted the firm offered support for the State of Vermont Climate Office’s Social Resilience Process Guide pilot program. A motion to accept the recommendation of DuBois & King was moved by Michelle Perlee, seconded by Ian Albinson, and passed unanimously by voice vote.
