The City of the Village of Clarkston City Council voted unanimously Feb. 24 to allocate its 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award of $7,000. The resolution, moved by Councilmember Ted Quisenberry and supported by Erica Jones, directs $3,500 to CAYA and designates an optional $3,500 for Independence Township Senior Center; the motion passed 5-0.
The action followed a public hearing opened at 7:33 p.m. and comments from Jennifer Angus concerning the Senior Community Center. Mayor Sue Wylie opened and closed the hearing (7:33–7:45 p.m.). The minutes record the allocation as Resolution carried 5-0; the council provided no further directives about distribution timing in the minutes.
