Council limits pickleball tournament to Sept. 5–7; resident complains about players' behavior

The council considered a request from Lisa Zirpolo to reserve the pickleball courts for four days in September. Council members determined four days would be too long and instead approved a tournament for Sept. 5–7, with set-up beginning Sept. 5 at 4 p.m.; Tim McCarthy moved approval, Mike Botelho seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Council required that any use of village resources (tables, chairs, cords) be requested at least one week prior to the event.
During public comment, resident Pam Schutt raised a behavior concern, saying some players have been relieving themselves by the creek. Pam Schutt’s complaint was recorded without council action at the meeting; Nancy Thill suggested quieter pickleball balls are effective and noted they do work. The council did not take enforcement action during the meeting but set event parameters and logistical requirements for the tournament.
