Nancy Thill reported April 11 that the Tree Board has received $7,000 of an $11,500 grant commitment and that the village has until the end of August to complete the required work. She said she has been coordinating with Grand Beach’s newly named Tree Board chair, David Manecke, and that the MDNR expects the two villages to adopt similar urban-forest management practices.
Nancy also announced that the Beach Garden Club will hold a Garden Tour on Saturday, June 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST and requested that event details and ticket information be posted on the village website. The meeting record notes that AEP line-trim work is complete and that Nancy helped Grand Beach establish a UFMP (urban-forest management plan) framework and that coordination between the communities will continue.
