Council discusses buried stairs, missing toters and lower lake levels at beaches

Beach maintenance was highlighted by Councilmember Brian Cassidy, who said beach stops 37 and 41.5 will remain open for the season and reported the stairs at Stop 38 are buried about four feet in sand and too hard to remove at present. Cassidy also noted lake levels are about seven inches lower than last year at the same time. During public comment, Kathleen Hogan Morrison raised specific safety concerns about items protruding from the sand at Stop 40; the council said it is monitoring that stop and will re-evaluate conditions in the spring.
