Water project moves forward; EPA requires historic-preservation study before bidding phase

The Village received an update on the Creek water project: Mike Mumper reported the project is moving forward but that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requires a National Historic Preservation Study before the engineers can advance the plan to the bidding stage. Orbis has been engaged to complete that study and report findings to the engineering team.
“The EPA requires a National Historic Preservation Study before moving to the next phase,” the minutes record. Council members directed staff to continue coordination with the consultant and engineers so the project can proceed once the study is complete. No timeline for the study’s completion was provided at the meeting; staff noted that the engineering submission to the EPA will follow the consultant’s report.
