At the Nov. 8 meeting the Village Council recorded the following formal actions:
- Approved minutes from the Oct. 11, 2024 meeting (motion by Tim McCarthy; second Nancy Thill). - Approved the treasurer's report and noted a Pokagon Fund balance of $45,536 (motion by Tim McCarthy). - Approved the check register totaling $144,527.04 (Clerk Anne Heywood presented; Tim McCarthy motioned; Nancy Thill seconded). - Approved a Tree Proposal application for village tree services, amended to require review by Village Attorney Sara Senica (motion by Nancy Thill; roll call 5–0). - Approved Southwest Michigan Planning Commission as master-plan consultant for $16,591, not to exceed $20,000 (motion by Mike Botelho; roll call 5–0). - Appointed/reappointed Karen Szyp to a three-year term on the Planning Commission (motion by Mike Botelho; unanimous). - Amended the Tree Ordinance to prohibit pruning of identified oaks between April 15 and September 15 and to require tool sanitization and application of latex paint to wounds (motion by Nancy Thill; roll call 5–0).
